The Tourism Partnership of Niagara – CEO Departure

Niagara Falls – The Tourism Partnership of Niagara announced today that its CEO, Robin Garrett, is leaving the organization, effective immediately.

The CEO’s departure was mutually agreed to by the TPN Board and Ms. Garrett.

Co-Chairs Wayne Thomson and Janice Thomson note that Ms. Garrett’s contribution to The Tourism Partnership of Niagara has been much appreciated, particularly her efforts in establishing a Strategic and Marketing plan that addresses the needs of the tourism destination within Niagara.

TPN's third issue of the award-winning Niagara Travel magazine is now in development and we are pleased to offer advertising opportunities to industry partners.  The publication will once again be distributed in Ontario, Montreal and Rochester.  We have expanded our distribution this year to include Cleveland and Pittsburg. The magazine will be released in May 2014.  There are a limited number of advertising opportunities and ads will be sold on a first come first serve basis. These opportunities go on sale at noon on December 19, 2013 and will be available until January 31, 2014.

In May 2015, Niagara will be hosting Rendez-vous Canada at the ScotiaBank Convention Centre.  It's a rare oppportunity to show off Niagara's exceptional tourism products and experiences to the world's travel trade.  There will be thousands of face-to-face meetings between international buyers and Canadian sellers with hundreds of millions of dollars coming to Canadian businesses.  TPN will be working with the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), Niagara Falls Tourism and our other sub-region partners to host an unforgettable event.

TPN CEO Robin Garrett was elected to the Board of Directors of the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) at the Annual General Meeting on January 22nd.  TIAO is recognized as the umbrella organization for the leading associations, destination marketing organizations, and regional tourism organizations serving Ontario's diverse tourism industry. TIAO collectively represents 147,000 businesses and 600,000 employees that are dedicated to promoting and operating Ontario's tourism industry.
